FAIRFIELD COUNTY BANK DONATES $5,000 TO AMERICARES FOR UKRAINIAN REFLIEF

Ridgefield, CT—March 22, 2022: Fairfield County Bank President Dan Berta, accompanied by Svitlana Afanasievsa, Customer Service Representative at the Bank’s Wilton Branch, presented Americares Director of Strategic Partnerships, Cornelia Brefka, with a $5,000 donation in support of their Ukrainian relief effort.

Svitlana “Lana” Afanasievsa is a native Ukrainian with much of her family still overseas, and decided to run a fundraiser through Americares, which raised over $8,500. President Dan Berta said of the Bank’s own donation: “We are proud to support an organization that is working so tirelessly to help families just like Lana’s in Ukraine. Their effort to bring medical aid to those effected is indispensable during these difficult times.”

Americares dispatched an Emergency Response Team in Poland, and as of March 17 has provided three tons of medicines and supplies for hospitals in Ukraine. The non-profit has also awarded emergency grants to six local organizations that are supporting Ukrainians with mental health, housing, and travel from the region.
