FAIRFIELD COUNTY BANK CEO DAVID A. SCHNEIDER ELECTED CHAIRMAN OF CONNECTICUT BANKERS ASSOCIATION BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Ridgefield, CT—September 20, 2024: Fairfield County Bank is honored to announce that David Schneider, CEO, was recently elected Chairman of the Connecticut Bankers Association (CBA) Board of Directors at the CBA’s Annual Meeting.

Mr. Schneider served as Vice Chairman during the 2023-2024 term before his election. As Chairman, he will over-see operations of the Board of Directors and engage in committee activities within the CBA, while also representing the CBA at state and national events.  Mr. Schneider’s deepening engagement with CBA further strengthens his ability to advocate for industry issues at the local, state, and federal levels.

The CBA represents the financial institutions in the State of Connecticut and serves as the voice of its members, while supporting and promoting legislative and regulatory actions at the state and federal level that benefit the general welfare its member institutions, the banking industry, and the people of Connecticut. The CBA also supports its member institutions through educational programs such as the Connecticut School of Finance and Management.

Mr. Schneider received his undergraduate degree in accounting from Pace University and graduated from the National School of Banking through Fairfield University. He has over forty years of experience in banking, joining the Bank in 1994 and was instrumental in leading the Bank through the merge of Fairfield County Bank and Ridgefield Savings Bank. Mr. Schneider served as CFO for a decade before beginning his tenure as CEO alongside President Daniel L. Berta.

Mr. Schneider firmly believes in giving back to the community in which he works and lives and serves as an exemplary supporter of many local charities. Mr. Schneider currently resides in Ridgefield with his wife and enjoys spending time with his seven grandchildren.
