Fairfield County Bank Holds 154th Annual Meeting; Elects Four Corporators, Announces New Board Member

Ridgefield, CT—July 15, 2024: Fairfield County Bank held its 154th Annual Meeting at the Silver Spring County Club. The Annual Meeting is held to inform the Corporators on the financial well-being of the Bank, success and growth over the past year, and strategic plans of the coming year. The attendees included the Board of Directors, the Board of Incorporators, and the Senior Management of the Bank.
Ralph L. DePanfilis, Chairman of the Board, welcomed the attendees to the meeting and announced the appointment of Raymond Rizio, Esq. as the newest board member to join Fairfield County Bank’s Board of Directors. He also expressed gratitude to Phyllis Zappala and David Henry for their dedicated service over their board term. Mr. DePanfilis then led the vote to elect four new Corporators: Mark Connelly and Tommy Febbraio of Fairfield, Mark Fitzgibbon of New Canaan and Karla Murtaugh of Ridgefield. Mr. Connelly is the President and CEO of FCB Insurance Services, a HUB International company. Mr. Febbraio is the Principal and Managing Partner of the Febbraio Commercial Team at Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices New England Properties and acclaimed Fairfield County restaurateur. Mr. Fitzgibbon is the Managing Director and head of FSG Research at Piper Sandler and serves on the Board of Directors of New York’s Finest Foundation. Ms. Murtaugh is a founding agent of the Compass Real Estate Ridgefield office and the top producing realtor in Fairfield County.
David A. Schneider, CEO, and Daniel L. Berta, President, presented on the financials of the Bank, the product and service offering, innovation across the organization, and community engagement. The presentation highlights included a review of the strong financial position of the Bank in relation to current economic strains on the industry from Mr. Schneider. Mr. Schneider also discussed the Bank’s Commercial Lending successes, which was underscored by recent recognition as the 2024 Bank of the Year by BDC Capital and the Connecticut District Small Business Administration’s 504 3rd Party Lender of the Year.
Mr. Berta spoke on a wide range of topics, including the Bank’s unwavering commitment to the Fairfield County community. In 2024 alone, the Bank contributed over $560,000 in corporate donations, while its employees volunteered more than 5,700 hours across 250+ local organizations. He also highlighted the Bank’s recognition as the top-ranked bank in Connecticut by Forbes, based on an independent study conducted by Statista.
